The program of the Ministry of Health entitled " More Doctors " was released on July 8, 2013 , with the goal of bringing doctors to areas where there are shortages or where there are professionals ,ie the corners of Brazil and the outskirts of large cities. The media played a key role in publicizing the actions for the Brazilian population could take cognizance of the implementation of this program. The aim of the study was to analyse the news related to the program and associated themes in three months ( July, August and September ) of 2013, to assess the impact that the program was having on the media. The research consisted of a descriptive study and used qualitative and quantitative methods , a retrospective analysis was performed of the stories in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo with the descriptors that had the program context: More Doctors, Physicians and Foreign Doctors. All data were collected through online access to the electronic version of the newspaper with the largest circulation in the country . The data obtained from the collection were statistically analysed, described and related to each other in order to outline the program assumes that the representation in print . As a result 262 publications were found . Regarding the type of publication it was observed that 155 ( 59.2 % ) were related to reporting , opinion followed with 92 ( 35.1 % ) . The category of highest number of publications was to "Associated Issues" with 75 ( 28.6 % ) , followed by "Management" with 69 ( 26.3 % ) and "Training" with 62 ( 23.7 % ). Most publications had pessimistic character 130 (49.6% ), followed by optimistic (25.6%) and neutral (24.8%) . After analysis it was found that the media got a key to the impact of the program role because it was a way to reach the population not only in spite of the same information , but with different opinions making the reader get an overview of what happens in country. The analyses were not completed as pass by several researchers in order that the final considerations can be publicized in academia more broadly so following a careful supervision.
